Safer journeys start here. Have your say on the proposed intersection improvements.

What we are doing

AT has received multiple requests and concerns regarding safety at Donegal Park Drive and Broadhurst Road intersection. Key issues raised include:

  • Drivers failing to give way on Broadhurst Road.
  • Restricted visibility when exiting the side roads.
  • High vehicle speeds along Donegal Park Drive.

What we are proposing:

  • A new roundabout that larger vehicles can drive over if they need to.
  • Move and improve the rain gardens to make space for new kerb ramps.
  • New pedestrian refuge islands with upgrades to the existing kerb ramps and tactile pavers to help people cross the road safely.
  • Extend the broken yellow lines and add new white road markings to guide drivers.

Why we doing this

We want to work with you to deliver safer roads in your neighbourhood. These changes would:

  • Make it safer and easier for drivers to move through the intersection, especially when turning into or out of Broadhurst Road. Since 15 of the 16 crashes involved crossing or turning movements, a roundabout would help slow vehicles, improve visibility, and create a more controlled and predictable way for drivers to enter and exit the intersection.
  • Help reduce the risk of crashes at this intersection where 16 reported crashes occurred between 2020 and 2024.
  • Slow vehicle speeds through the intersection.
  • Create a clearer and more predictable layout for all drivers.
  • Provide a stronger long-term safety improvement than previous signage and road marking changes.

What we want your feedback on

Whether you have any specific knowledge, operational issues or suggestions that may help to refine the proposed design.
