Consultation Outcome
After reviewing the feedback we received, we are proceedingwith the below changesto our proposal to improve safety and visibility on Grammar School Road, Pakuranga.
Paint broken yellow lines on Grammar School Road and Pakuranga Road.
Paint additional broken yellow lines along the eastern side of Acmena Lane. The road is narrow, and cars parked on both sides of the road block access to properties and could hinder emergency services and waste service trucks. Therefore, we have extended our proposal to add more broken yellow lines to ensure safe and easy access for everyone.
What happens next
We anticipate these changes will be installed between April and June 2025.
We'll be in touch with local residents before any changes take place.

“Safer driving in and out of Grammar School Road and Acmena Lane.”
“'It would make a much safer environment for when residents or visiting vehicles turn into Grammar School Rd, especially a left turn from Pakuranga Highway - some of the parked cars are virtually in the bend, very hazardous when cars are trying to turn in from the busy highway. That also reduces visibility of cars traveling up Grammar School Rd - forcing incoming traffic to move across the imaginary centreline and therefore onto the wrong side of the road. (Also dangerous, of course) line onto the opposing lane. I think the current plan is well-crafted and sensible for all road users and neighbours - maximum safety with only minimal loss of parking spaces. Great work!👏”

About the project
Improving visibility and safety on Grammar School Road, Pakuranga
Residents have expressed concerns about visibility issues when vehicles park at the intersection of Grammar School Road and Pakuranga Road. In response to these concerns, we are proposing to paint broken yellow lines to provide a safer environment for everyone.
What we are proposing
Grammar School Road, Pakuranga DrawingWe are proposing to paint broken yellow lines
It will take one day to paint the broken yellow lines in good weather conditions.
The changes in the proposal include:
Painting broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) around the bend of #176 Pakuranga Road.
Painting broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) around the island and the eastern side of Acmena Lane.
Benefits and impacts
We want to work with you to deliver safer roads in your neighbourhood. These changes would:
Make it safer for vehicles when entering and exiting Grammar School Road
These improvements would remove 2 on-street parking spaces to improve visibility and accessibility. We acknowledge this can be inconvenient, so we have minimised the removal of parking as much as possible.
What we want your feedback on
With your local knowledge, we invite you to provide feedback on the extent of the broken yellow lines.
How you can have your say
