Project Outcome - September 2025

Thank you for your feedback.

The proposal will proceed with minor changes.

In response to feedback we have updated our proposal to include broken yellow lines at the intersection of Kerrykeel Drive/Coolaghy Drive and the intersection of Kerrykeel Drive/Sunglade Grove.

The additional broken yellow lines are similar to the rest of the proposal and aim to reinforce where it is already illegal to park, and near pedestrian crossing points.

Project overview

As Ormiston continues to grow, we’re making changes to improve safety and accessibility on our neighbourhood streets. Community feedback has highlighted issues with visibility and pedestrian access due to vehicles parked too close to intersections.

Why we're making changes:

Many streets in Ormiston are narrow, and parked vehicles near intersections are:

  • Blocking driver visibility
  • Obstructing pedestrian crossing points
  • Creating safety risks, especially for children walking to schools, parks, and shops

What’s changing

To improve safety, broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) will be painted at selected intersections. These markings reinforce existing rules under the NZ Road Code and help keep roads clear and safe.

Broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) will be installed at the following locations:
