Auckland Transport is developing a parking plan for Ponsonby as part of Room to Move: Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's Parking Strategy.

Ponsonby is one of around 70 centres across Auckland which will have parking plans developed and delivered over the next decade.

We want to hear from you

We are in the initial stages of the process, and as one of our key stakeholders, we’d like your insights on parking and kerbside issues /opportunities we should be considering for this area.

We will use the information you provide to investigate further and inform draft proposals for the area. We’ll then come back to you and the wider community during the public consultation phase once we have the proposals firmed up.

What we’re looking for

The interactive map below outlines our project boundary, and we’re interested in hearing your thoughts on public street parking, council-owned carparks, and kerbside uses, such as footpaths. Parking on private land is not included within the scope of this project.

At this early stage in the process, we are looking for your insights for Ponsonby on the following:

  • Parking spaces
  • Loading zones
  • Mobility spaces
  • Space for pick up and drop off
  • Bike and scooter parking
  • Footpaths
  • Use of streets and footpaths for waste collection

How to share your feedback

Please use the interactive map below to drop a pin on the specific location where you have a suggestion or an issue. We encourage you to be as specific as possible with details, such as the time of day and day of the week when relevant.

Example Feedback

  • “The loading zone on this street is always full when I try to use it on weekday mornings before 9am.”
  • “I need a mobility parking space and there aren’t any near the service I use.”
  • “This parking space is often empty.”

Feedback closes on Thursday 17 April.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and help us improve our community's parking infrastructure.
