About the project

In May 2024, we proposed changes to improve parking availability at the Clonbern Road Carpark in response to community and business requests about high demand for parks.

Programme delays prevented improvements, but we can now move forward.

From the week starting 11 August 2025, we are changing the parking restrictions. However, monitoring and enforcement of the change will not start until September 2025, to help the community adjust.

The changes we’re making

• Time limits will increase to two hours (P120) and will apply from 8am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday

• Mobility Permit Holder Only two hours (P120) 8am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday

• Installing two rubber speed bumps (5.5cm high) at the entrance and exit of the car park

Please refer to the drawing below to see where the restrictions apply

How this will benefit your neighbourhood - more parking availability

• Makes it easier for customers to find short term parking for local businesses

• Ensures fairness with the high demand in this area

• Responds to business and customer concerns

Recent data collected suggests that the average duration of stay for visitors and shoppers is approximately two hours, making these adjustments more appropriate.
