About the project:

We are planning changes on Beach Haven Road at the Cresta Avenue T‑intersection to improve visibility and access for all road users.

We would like to address safety concerns at and around the intersection of Cresta Avenue and Beach Haven Road. Parked vehicles in this area have reduced visibility and created safety issues for people driving, walking, and cycling.

To improve safety for everyone, we are planning to keep this section of road clear, making it easier and safer to travel through.

Proposed changes (July/Aug 2026):

  • Install “No Stopping at All Times” (broken yellow lines) on Beach Haven Road at the Cresta Avenue T‑intersection to restrict parking and improve traffic movement.

A drawing showing the planned changes is included with this letter.

Benefits for your community:

These changes will:

  • Improve visibility and provide more space for drivers navigating the curve
  • Enhance safety for all road users, including people walking and cycling
  • Support smoother traffic flow along this narrow section of road

What happens next?

  • Any updates or changes to the plan will be published on our website
  • Road marking work is expected to take approximately one day, subject to suitable weather conditions
  • We understand this work may cause some temporary inconvenience and will do our best to minimise disruption while prioritising safety
  • Please remember to park considerately and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed

How to contact us:

If you would like to discuss the proposal, share local knowledge, or let us know if we have missed anything, please:

  • Email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz
