About the project
Recently, we have received several requests from residents of Summerset at Heritage Park Retirement Village about visibility concerns at the entrance to their community. Site observations have confirmed that visibility is limited when vehicles park too close to the entrance, which is particularly concerning given that most drivers exiting the driveway are elderly.
The changes we’re making
We are painting broken yellow lines and a white hockey stick line marking
11m of No Stopping At All Times to the left of 8 Harrison Road entrance.
This will result in a loss of two parking spaces. We understand that removing parking can be inconvenient, so we have minimised the removal while maintaining good lines of sight and access.
The drawing shows where we’ll be working.
Benefits to your community:
These changes will improve accessibility and visibility.
What happens next
We will install these changes in early 2026.
It will take one day to paint the broken yellow lines in good weather conditions.
Any change to the plan will be updated on this page.
We will be in touch with the local residents and businesses prior to any construction taking place.
How to contact us
If you'd like to speak to someone about our plans, please email us at ATengagement@at.govt.nz by Monday, 13 October 2025.
