We’re improving visibility and safety

35 Coates Avenue, Ōrākei – Broken Yellow Lines

We’re updating the community about our plans to paint broken yellow lines (No Stopping At All Times) along the kerbside outside 35 Coates Avenue.

We first let the community know about these plans back in November 2022. Although we had hoped to make these safety improvements sooner, we can confirm that the new installation date is set for April 2026.

Why are we making these changes

We first let the community know about these plans back in November 2022. Although we had hoped to make these safety improvements sooner, we can confirm that the new installation date is set for April 2026.

What’s changing

  • We’ll paint broken yellow lines (No Stopping At All times) outside 35 Coates Avenue. This will remove 2 parking spaces but only along the kerbside.

How this benefits your neighbourhood

  • Better visibility for drivers reversing from angle parking and exiting Ngaiwi Street.
  • Easier access for pedestrians and people using mobility aids to the kerb ramp on Coates Avenue.

When is the work happening

Work is scheduled to start in April 2026.
