About the project
We’re responding to a request from the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board with support from the Mairangi Bay Business Association to make some parking changes in the Mairangi Bay Village.
The parking restrictions in the Mairangi Bay Village at the moment are P60 from Monday to Sunday. The change to P60 Monday to Friday encourages weekend visits to the Village.
By changing the angle of some of the parking on Hastings Road and adding an angle parking space on Beach Road additional parking spaces will be created.
While we are in the area, we will also be updating the road marking on the existing mobility parking space outside 376 Beach Road.
The changes we're by September 2026
Remove existing P60 Monday to Sunday and install new P60 Monday to Friday parking signage.
Update angle parking liens on Hastings Road.
Updating the road marking on the mobility parking space outside 376 Beach Road.
Adding an additional space outside 413 Beach Road.
Benefits to your community
Unrestricted parking on Saturday and Sundays for customers and visitors.
Makes it easier for customers to find short-term parking while visiting the local businesses.
Maintains regular parking turnover by giving more people an opportunity to park.
Still give parking opportunity to anyone, outside the designated days.
More available parking spaces for people to visit the Village.
What happens next
It will take one or two days to repaint the road marking in good weather conditions.
It will take one or two days to change the signs in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parking illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
